This weekend was full of a lot of really cool experiences. For me, it was my first time visiting Bristol, TN and Black Mountain, NC. Both cities showed up, rocked out with us and made us feel like home. We ended up passing by Bristol Speedway, and being the big NASCAR fan I am, I was in awe by the size of the racetrack. One of these days I’ll get around to seeing a race there. When we arrived in Black Mountain, NC, it was 2:00am and pitch black outside. The next morning, when we went to pack the trailer, I was blown away by the mountains that surrounded us. Black Mountain is absolutely beautiful!!! The stage at Silverados was an outdoor stage, surrounded by the mountains and crisp fall air. The audience was engaging, the energy was flowing and it was the most beautiful/scenic show I’ve ever played! I’m thankful to have had an opportunity to play these shows with Saving Abel. They are some of the nicest guys I’ve ever met, and I really do mean that. It’s all one big family and we all just want to see each other succeed. I love that. We’re all just lifting each other up and we all just want to see each other thrive. That’s what music is all about, you know? Unity. Spreading good and happiness into the world. It’s not about competition and ugliness. The world has enough of that nowadays. Our mission, as Lydia’s Castle, has always been to encourage others to follow their dreams and build their castles. Anything is possible, especially when we come together. Be kind to each other. Next stop is Nashville 10/2 at Exit In!
